Liine
Liine is a collaborative project founded in 2010 by Etienne Noreau-Hebert, Gareth Williams, John Acquaviva, Nick Bugayev and Richie Hawtin. A number of the team previously worked on the successful Jazzmutant Lemur multitouch platform. They are responsible for the Griid iPad application. Their long-term goal is to redefine the way people interact with sound. Stu began freelancing with Liine in August 2010 and has been helping develop a number of projects including Griid and Kapture.
Griid
Griid + Miixer
Griid is an iPad based clip launching tool for Ableton Live. The core Griid module is the most fluid, fastest and reliable tool for launching clips. Using specialised touch objects and gestures, Griid is carefully designed with tactile control and the performance experience in mind. Finely tuned for rapid navigation, you can enjoy the freedom of playing Live sets of any size with ease. Griid features explicit visual feedback meaning that you have all the information you need, quite literally at your fingertips!

Cliip
Griid’s core module is a clip launcher, however it also features a miixer and midi cliip editor. The miixer is a track based mixing device capable of control volumes, pans and sends on specific tracks allowing you to launch clips simultaneously.
The Cliip editor is the first of its kind, allowing you to dive into Abletons midi clips using an elegant touch based piano roll. Paint notes onto the smooth zoomable grid. Use intuitive multitouch gestures to edit note length and velocity. Cliip has two modes, one for melodic input and the other for percussive elements. Cliip allows you to create new midi clips and duplicate existing sections to add complexity to existing parts of a song.
KapturePad
KapturePad
Kapture Pad is an app for iPhone/iPad to control Ableton Live. It builds on the success of specialised software originally created for Richie Hawtin’s Plastikman Live show. It offers a clean and easy to use iPhone/iPad interface to manage and perform with snapshots. Basically KapturePad allows you to capture every parameter in the current live set, and morph between groups of such snapshots.
Two types of snapshots are available: Global Snapshots and Track Snapshots. Global Snapshots store mixer and device parameters for all tracks and all devices (yes, even VSTs and Audio Units). Track Snapshots allow morphing between four snapshots on a track using the Morph Pad – an incredible new way to perform electronic music with Live.
Both types of snapshots offer filtering so that you can choose exactly which devices or tracks you want Kapture to control.
KapturePad
Kapture and trigger snapshots on the fly during performance, or prepare your snapshots in advance. Kapture Pad can be used in many different ways, here are just a few:
- Be more daring: First, Kapture a great loop. Then, feel free to push the envelope and really let loose with those effects. Now, one tap is all it takes to jump right back to that perfect groove!
- Performance and sound design: Get acquainted with morphing. Never before has this been possible in Ableton Live. Kapture four wildly different sounds and discover new sounds by smoothly morphing between them.
- Set the stage for each song: People often wonder how to manage many songs with different mix, instrument and effect settings in one Live set. Kapture Pad is the answer.
- DJ-style XY pad: Wondering how to raise the bar with your DJ performances? Morph effect snapshots and create your own signature sonic weapons.
- Timed chaos: trigger snapshots with clips in Live. Combine these with follow actions and you can create fantastic changes synced to the beat.
